USA Today - No left turn: Companies try to save fuel as prices rise

 

USA Today recently released an article titled, "No left turn: Companies try to save as fuel prices rise" discussing unique ways in which businesses are fighting rising fuel costs - which are up 22% for gasoline since last year and 46% for diesel.  Specifically, UPS Logistics Technologies software solution is mentioned on page 3 in relation to the success Office Depot has experienced by restricting left-hand turns.  By using this tool, Yalmaz Siddiqui, Director of Environmental Affairs states "Office Depot now makes 180-200 deliveries per truck over 80-100 mile routes.  That's up from 125-135 deliveries, over the same distance."
